NOTE: This is an archived version of the UC AAPI MRP from 2014. The MRP is in the process of being rebuilt, with support from the State of California’s historic API Equity Budget via the AAPI Data project at the University of California, Riverside. Please stay tuned for more details about the future growth of the UC AAPI MRP!
Welcome to the website of the University of California Asian American and Pacific Islander Policy Multicampus Research Program. We are a group of over 70 faculty across the University of California who are committed to improving the lives of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in California through applied policy research and collaboration. Our recent and upcoming publications have been, like much of our research, collaborative efforts across the UC system.
The UC AAPI Policy MRP has been engaging in applied policy research since 2005, when founding director Paul Ong (UCLA) generated funding and institutional support to convene this multicampus program. Since then, the AAPI Policy MRP has worked with the California State Legislature’s Asian Pacific Islander Joint Legislative Caucus to study health, mental health, and education among California’s AA and NHPI populations. We encourage you to visit the other pages on this site, which has downloadable research papers, UC AAPI Policy MRP reports, and news about ongoing activities. But, most of all, I urge you to work with us to develop and conduct policy research that will enable informed decision making, policies, and advocacy on behalf of our communities.
Karthick Ramakrishnan,
Director, UC AAPI Policy MRP
